At Valises, every piece is handcrafted with carefully selected leather and traditional attention to detail. We stand behind the quality of our craftsmanship and want your piece to accompany you for years to come.

Every Valises piece passes through careful inspection before it leaves our workshop. Our warranty covers genuine manufacturing and craftsmanship issues that may affect the intended function or construction of the product.

Our Warranty May Cover:

  • Stitching or construction defects
  • Faulty hardware or fittings
  • Manufacturing defects
  • Structural issues caused by workmanship
  • Other confirmed defects resulting from the manufacturing process

If a covered issue is confirmed, Valises may, at our discretion, repair or replace the affected piece or component.

No two pieces of natural leather are exactly alike. Variations in grain, colour, texture, creases, wrinkles, natural marks, and small tonal differences are natural characteristics of genuine leather—not imperfections.

With time, your leather may become darker, softer, richer, and develop a distinctive patina.

Let Your Leather Age Beautifully.

Your Valises piece does not need complicated care. It needs time, attention, and a little respect.

01. Keep It Dry

Protect your leather from excessive water and prolonged moisture. If it becomes wet, gently wipe away the moisture and allow it to dry naturally at room temperature.

Never use direct heat, a hair dryer, or a radiator to dry leather.

02. Keep It Clean

For everyday care, gently remove dust and surface dirt with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid excessive rubbing or aggressive cleaning.

03. Let the Leather Breathe

When not in use, store your Valises piece in its dust bag in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, excessive heat, or humidity.

04. Avoid Harsh Chemicals

Keep leather away from:

  • Alcohol
  • Perfume
  • Oils
  • Solvents
  • Bleach
  • Household cleaning products
  • Other harsh chemicals

These substances can permanently alter the leather's colour, finish, or texture.

05. Condition With Care

If conditioning becomes necessary, use only a high-quality leather conditioner suitable for your specific leather type. Always test any product on a small, inconspicuous area first.

When in doubt, contact Valises before applying any treatment.

Special Care for Oil Pull-Up Leather

Oil pull-up leather is designed to develop character with use. Gentle rubbing and everyday movement may create subtle changes in colour and surface appearance. These changes are part of the distinctive character of pull-up leather.

Do not try to remove every mark.

Some marks are simply part of the journey.

Special Care for Vegetable-Tanned Leather

Vegetable-tanned leather naturally develops a deeper tone and richer patina over time. Exposure to light, touch, and everyday use gradually transforms its appearance.

This evolution is one of the defining characteristics of vegetable-tanned leather.

What Our Warranty Does Not Cover

Our warranty does not normally cover damage caused by:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Accidental damage
  • Scratches, scuffs, or cuts
  • Stains or discolouration caused by liquids or chemicals
  • Improper cleaning or conditioning
  • Excessive moisture
  • Heat exposure
  • Misuse or neglect
  • Normal leather ageing and patina
  • Natural variations in leather grain, colour, or texture
  • Damage caused by alterations or repairs performed by third parties

Because every Valises piece is made from natural leather, changes that occur naturally through use are considered part of the character of the material.
